On Saturday, February 8, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph celebrated their 25th year of the Have a Heart for Kids’ Sake Gala. Guests dressed to the nines as well as sponsors, community members and local politicians flooded the Italian Canadian Club. The Have a Heart for Kids’ Sake Gala, presented by Skyline, provided an opportunity to take a moment to recognize the new branding and vision behind the BBBS name. BBBSG was proud to present and showcase two incredible matches: Andrew (big) and Anthony (little), 10-year match, and former big brother Jeff Thomason along with his little brother Christopher Poon-Tip, who were matched from 1992 to 2001 shared their experiences and stories with 256 guests.

This exceptional night filled with music, exciting special guests and of course fantastic food, could not have been possible without local community support, sponsors and donations. It is because of the generous support from the Guelph community that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph was able to fundraise $76,000. Guests were encouraged to donate, pledge support or participate in a silent/live auction to continue the work of raising highly needed funds for the BBBSG programs. All donations and proceeds from the 25th Anniversary Gala will be used to continue the great work Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph is doing in the Guelph and surrounding area. As BBBSG looks towards the future, their goals for the next 25 years will far surpass the great work they have completed so far. This beautiful gala not only raised funds for a worthy cause, but also raised awareness and acknowledgment of the BBBS name.
