Mya is one of Big Brothers Big Sisters 2020 Scholarship winners, which is a new opportunity for youth who have been involved with BBBSG programming to apply for funding towards post secondary education.
Mya joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph back in March 2009, which was when her family reached out for a Big Brother volunteer, to be matched to Mya’s older brother. Shortly after her mother applied, Mya was matched with Debbie and the rest was history.
Mya and Debbie were matched for eight years in our Big Sister program and when Mya turned 17 years of age, she graduated out of Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program and to this day their relationship stays strong.
