Little Change for BIG Change

Help support over 600 children and youth in our community!

It’s that time of year again! The ‘Little Change for BIG Change’ (LCBC) campaign runs for the months of July & August and we’re so excited for another amazing year! Our ‘Little Change for BIG Change’ Campaign strives to raise awareness about BBBSG in the community and the need for ‘Bigs’ to volunteer with our mentorship programs. This campaign strives to collect little change from local community members that will help fund BIG change allowing our mentorship programs to continue to thrive!

Giving & Donations

During the months of June, July and August this year, community members generously donated in various capacities to local retail establishments!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the ‘Little Change for BIG Change’ campaign, you helped raise a total of $13, 524!

 

BIG Bottle Drive Bonanza

For the month of July, we ran our ‘BIG Bottle Drive Bonanza’ event! We had 3 amazing local businesses participating in a friendly competition to see who would donate the most bottles back to BBBSG; Spring Mill Distillery, Shoeless Joes and NV Kitchen + Bar!

NV Kitchen + Bar was crowned the ‘BIG Bottle Drive Bonanza Champion 2024’ for donating the most bottles and raising $297!

A BIG thank you to the businesses who participated in the event and to supporters who showed some local business love to these awesome establishments!

 

TAG Days

Our TAG Days event took place on the weekends of July 13th & 14th and July 20th & 21st from 10:00am-2:00pm at assigned store locations in Guelph! TAG Days are where we stand out front of large, local retail locations with lots of foot traffic and solicit donations to support the BBBSG vision.

BBBSG would like to extend a BIG thank you to the businesses who participated in our TAG Days event, to our amazing volunteers and our supporters who helped make this event possible and a huge success raising $3,582!

 

BIG Kick-A-Ton Soccer Event

We held our first-ever Soccer Challenge Event on Tuesday, July 16th from 5:30pm-8:00pm at the Varsity Field at the University of Guelph. This challenging and exciting event gave participants an opportunity to have fun, test their soccer skills and play for a grand prize!

The event consisted of two soccer related challenges tailored towards everyone; 15 penalty kicks and 15 free kicks from outside of the box for a total score of 30.

The grand prize for the Top 5 Highest Scorers consisted of choosing a soccer jersey of their desire from a pool of 25 jersey’s from this year’s Copa America and Euros tournaments donated graciously by Jersey Baazaar! This included major teams such as France, Canada, England, Germany, and more!

BBBSG is so grateful to our community partners, University of Guelph and Fill It Forward for their donations in support of the event!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this fun initiative in support of our ‘Little Change for BIG Change’ campaign – raising $232!

 

Canadian Tire

A BIG thank you to Canadian Tire located at 10 Woodlawn Rd E, Guelph who participated in the campaign through a Point-of-Sale (POS) commitment for the months of July and August raising a total of $532!

 

McDonald’s Guelph

Give a little change to see a BIG Change!

Thank you to all community members who donated at participating McDonald’s Guelph locations from August 19th -September 1st! Your donations support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph in providing life-changing mentoring relationships for over 600+ children and youth in and around the Guelph community!

A huge thank you to McDonald’s Guelph locations for your generous support in raising $8,011 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph!
