Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. We are currently experiencing a higher-than-usual volume of applications in our 1-to-1 programs, which means intake for our In-School Mentoring and Community-Based 1-to-1 Mentoring are on-hold at this time.
Applications are still being accepted for both of our group programs:
School-Based Groups: Applications received at this time will be considered for the Winter semester (January-June), as volunteer recruitment for the Fall semester is now closed.
Big Bunch: Applications are also being accepted; however, due to current program planning timelines, most applicants should expect opportunities beginning in Fall of 2027. While a Winter start (January) may be possible for some volunteers, placements during that time cannot be guaranteed and rely on a variety of factors.
We will update our website once applications for our 1-to-1 programs reopen. We truly appreciate your patience and interest in supporting children and youth in our community, and we look forward to connecting with you soon.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph is committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion. We aim to thoroughly screen and vet all volunteer applicants to ensure child safety, but will not discriminate against volunteer applicants on any of the grounds protected by human rights legislation during any phases of the recruitment, screening and acceptance process.
We welcome applications from persons with disabilities and will provide accommodations during all stages of the volunteer intake process, upon request. All caseworkers of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph will treat all volunteer applicants with dignity and respect.
